FT: ...putting the two companies together would create a 117 strong chain covering most of England & Wales with combined sales in excess of £100m. Country Gardens, the smaller of the two with 39 centres, said it was considering the approach and other options for maximising shareholder value. WyeVale shares have climbed steadily since last summer. Nicholas Marshall, CEO of CG said they have the best sites in south-east England and thats where the money is. It is Early days, there has been no due diligence and suggestion of price and no further talks were scheduled. [seems to me we should be looking at Country Gardens rather than Wyevale-IRW] |

FT: Country Gardens yesterday announced a 26% rise in interim profits and rejected an informal approach from Wyevale. Wyevale had offered 3.10. Wyevale is understood to have upped its original offer to £3.25 in a mixture of cash and shares.but this did not reflect either current trading or the groups potential. Will Wyevale keep pushing? |
